It was great to be involved with the opening of Billericays new mini-ramp. Vikram Footring, a young teen and Chairman of the Youth Council, and a team of youngsters put in a lot of efort to make this project a reality, and there were a number of people present the day it was officially opened to the public. The event also helped make the local community aware of their existing skatepark and new mini-ramp.
Once the rain had passed, Chris Oliver and Josh Rouillion showed off for the kids with some quirkly doubles manoeuvres, then ran some workshops and a competition. Billericay hometown lad George won the comp with some nice moves including a kickflip pivot fakie.

"Thank you... The workshops you provided for the youngsters throughout the day were of great benefit and you could certainly see that they gained confidence and became more proficient on the boards as the day progressed... the competition and presentation of a new skateboard was greatly appreciated... You were all interactive with the youngsters and it was obvious that you wanted them all to gain something from the day."
Helen Philpott, Town Clerk, Billericay
