Fistral Beach 30th July - 6th August 2006 = The Newquay Board Masters; a super fun week of sun drenched entertainment, with a highlight being the skateboarding that took place on our ramp right at the centre of all the action.
The Vert was hired for the Vans Summer Sessions Finals, situated in amongst the trade area slap bang on Fistral Beach as a main attraction. An estimated 150,000 people entered the site over the course of the week to peruse the stalls and watch the skateboarding! That's not including the hoards of others who sat on the sand dunes overlooking the madness. Everyone was really happy with the ramp, and the riders were hyped that they had such a perfect structure to ride. The strong winds can be quite precarious down by the sea, so to know that the ramp that you are riding is flawless is a great bonus.
The event was heavily covered by Channel 4 with lots of footage of the ramp, and an edition of T4 was presented from the top of the Vert! Also, Extreme TV will be covering the event as part of their 'On The Road' series.
